  1. Icebreaker question: Describe the most interesting, wildest, or dangerous encounter you’ve ever had with an animal (e.g. dog attack, centipede bite, chased by a bear, etc.).
  2. Read Revelation 9.1-12.
  3. How much do you know about the influence of the spiritual world on the physical world?  How much of your idea of the spiritual world has been from pop culture (i.e. movies, TV, sci-fi books, social media, etc.) From tradition? How much of your idea of the spiritual world is rooted in Scripture?
  4. What are some popular ideas about evil and suffering in the world (i.e. its source, its nature, etc.) and how to survive/battle/handle it?
  5. Read Ephesians 6.12-18.  How does this passage either confirm or conflict with your beliefs about evil, suffering, and the spiritual world?
  6. How does it make you feel to know that behind all the problems and conflict in our lives and in the world, our battle is ultimately upon a spiritual battleground?
  7. What are the personal traits that form the elements of spiritual armor described here? (truth, righteousness, readiness to share the Gospel, faith, salvation)
  8. Which of the personal traits above do you personally need to cultivate more in your life?  What next steps will you take toward developing that/those trait(s) in your life?
  9. Close in prayer.
